Throughout the Texas Core Competencies for Early Childhood Practitioners and Administrators training, you will learn about the core competencies found in the Texas Core Competencies for Early Childhood Practitioners and Administrators document, developed by the Texas Head Start State Collaboration Office (THSSCO), in collaboration with the Texas Early Learning Council (TELC). This training was designed for use by early childhood professionals to improve the quality of care and education young children receive. The content and structure of the competencies can be thought of as a framework for assessing knowledge and skills, guiding training and professional development opportunities, and monitoring progress.
Go to www.cliengage.org and login.
After logging in, you will see a Welcome with your name at the top of the page
Scroll down to the Purple Bar that says ONLINE LEARNING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT and click on “My Enrolled Courses”
Click on “GO TO FULL COURSE CATALOG”
Look for “TECPDS – Practitioners” course and click on “VIEW PROGRAM”. NOTE: The courses may be organized differently for everyone. Please look for the text title of the lesson to ensure you are entering the correct course.
Find the NOT YET ENROLLED section and click on the purple drop down arrow to see the course/s and click ENROLL for the lesson you would like to complete.
Click “Yes” to continue to enroll yourself in the TECPDS Introduction course
You will be directed to the TECPDS Introduction Course. Click on the “Course” to begin
Click on the “Enter” button
Listen to the entire audio of the Introduction, then click the “Next” button. You are now automatically enrolled in the certificate path. Please disregard references to the certificate path vs. review path.
After completing each slide and answering every question, you will have completed the lesson when you reach the Conclusion screen. Click on the “Exit” tab at the top of the screen.
Click on the “Exit Activity” tab at the top of the screen
Click on “Online Courses Home”
If you are ready to proceed with the next training in the sequence, follow instructions #4 – #7 to enroll yourself in the next section: Core Competency Area 1: Child Growth and Development.
You must complete the Pretest in order to access the lesson. Pretest must be completed for every lesson after the Introduction.
Pretest, Course and Post Test must be completed and have a blue check mark in order to receive certificate.
A Certificate of Achievement will be emailed to you for each Core Competency Area completed (1 hour)
